Cdr, texts, photocopier experiments, "other" housed in modified wooden box. Recorded 1997-1999 at Kara-Bakos.
Fall of '97 and I had a place to live again so I decided I'd start making music again. Had access to a computer, which is obvious on these tracks, made primarily with Pure Data and Audiomulch and piano recordings I made at a nearby church. These were later used as background music for Slappy Pinchbottom's Odd Preoccupation on Austin TX pirate radio. I hadn't heard this stuff in years when I found the master copy while digging through old boxes. Later on I started combining the computer stuff with my earlier tape-junk stuff, which is what I'm still doing today. Hopefully it doesn't sound too much like the Mego stuff I was listening to a lot at the time (and still am). This was my first MPA album, and my first release on Midwest Death Cult, and I burned twenty copies at the lab and left the boxes with the cdr and other junk around Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Iowa City and (later) Austin TX. I don't know that I personally gave a copy to anyone. I'll try to find the texts and images and stuff, but I suspect some of it is probably lost forever, no big loss. A weird album, starts harsh ends ambient? Although in hindsight I'd probably change the firs title for Fair To Middling Signal Death. Maybe shoulda gone the other way if I expected people to listen. Anyway, help yourself, please share, thank you.
